Adam Weber
Executive Creative Partner, M&C Saatchi Abel

Adam began his career over 2 decades ago with a diploma in graphic design and specialised in packaging. He slowly made the move from design into art direction with the aim of working in an above-the-line creative team. During a decade with Hunt\Lascaris, he developed communication for the likes of Sasol, Nissan, Standard Bank, Tiger Brands, EWT and Adidas World Cup 2010. It also gave him the opportunity to work on global pitches for Motorola in Beijing and Pedigree in Moscow.

As an ECD at Joe Public, he led communication for Nedbank, Clover, Famous Brands and Chicken Licken, while pitching successfully for Brutal Fruit, Redd’s and Cell C. He Joined M&C Saatchi Abel in April 2017 as Executive Creative Partner for the Johannesburg office to work on brands like AVI, Nedbank, Nando’s and now Lexus and Windhoek. Adam has won many major awards, including Loeries Grand Prix, Cannes, Clio, One Show and has been featured in D&AD for both art direction and illustration.

An award-winning ad industry vet who now heads up Facebook’s Creative Shop for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Gaby de Abreu
Creative Director, Switch Design

Being curious, understanding different cultures and making new connections is what motivates Gaby – a natural by-product of growing up in Joburg. Together with his teams he has enjoyed creating and evolving some of South Africa’s most iconic brands across many different market sectors. From Sun International and Four Seasons in the hotel and leisure industry to Famous Brands in the FMCG retail sector and Investec in the financial services space, his approach to design has remained true for over three decades.

One of Gaby’s passions is football. This drive for the beautiful game has led to him to the fulfilment of one of his career dreams: designing the FIFA 2010 World Cup identity and branding programme. Gaby believes in hard work. Over the years has sweated blood and tears in creating great work that has won him many of local and international awards. He has also served on the Cannes and Loeries juries on numerous occasions. In his spare time, Gaby tries to see life through a millennial’s eyes, via his two teenage daughters. He is also working on living out his bucket list with his wife, and takes great pride in maintaining his immaculate lawn.

Jarred Cinman
Managing Director, VML SA

Jarred is the CEO VML South Africa, widely regarded as the best digital agency in South Africa, and a part of one of the leading digital agency networks in the world. Jarred founded one of the first professional web services firms in 1995. After selling his first business to the VWV Group, Jarred became part of the founding team of VWV Interactive, which went on to dominate the web development industry during the late 90s.

In 2000 Jarred left VWV to found Cambrient, which became the leading provider of content management solutions in South Africa. During this period, he started The Digital Edge podcast, which produced over 100 episodes and evolved into The Digital Edge Live, the largest annual digital conference in SA. In 2010 Jarred was part of the team that merged Cambrient into NATIVE, which became NATIVE VML in 2013. He was elected as deputy chair for the DMMA for 2012, Chairperson in 2013 and then drove the rebranding to form the IAB South Africa, of which he was chair for three years.

In 2013 he was awarded Best Individual Contribution to SA Digital Media & Marketing at the Bookmark Awards. Jarred sits on the Loeries Committee, was a Board Member of SAARF and The Creative Circle, and is a Board Member of DALRO and, in his spare time, answers his email.

Jessica Marques
Senior Copywriter, King James II

Jessica Marques has been in the industry for 8 years, and though that might not sound like much to some, it’s been an interesting 8 years for her. In her career thus far, she was selected as the South African representative for the London International Awards Young Creatives Seminar in Las Vegas, she’s won awards at Cannes, LIA and Loeries, travelled around the world on shoots, and judged on various panels.

In short, from a junior copywriter, to her position as Senior Copywriter at King James II, she’s spent a lot of time learning from the best people in advertising, both in her work, and in time spent on judging panels. She’s also in a band, and writes children’s books. But those are stories for another day. 

Osmond Tshuma
Art Director, Fluid-Wunderman & Co-founder of Mam'gobozi

Osmond Tshuma is a Zimbabwean award-winning designer and art director with a passion for design, craft and typography. He is currently living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Over the years, he has worked on numerous brands across Africa, from MTN and Telkom, to Standard Bank, SABC, Apartheid Museum, and SABC, just to name a few.

He has worked on memorable projects, like the IKwekwezi FM rebranding and the launch of the limited edition Soweto Gold ’76 commemorative beer. His accolades include two of his projects being published in Singapore and the USA, and awards from the Pendorings, Loeries, One Show and Cannes.

Pete Khoury
Chief Creative Officer, TBWA\ Hunt Lascaris

Peter Khoury has delivered growth to his client’s bottom lines, and won numerous advertising awards throughout his career. He joined TBWA\Hunt Lasaris in 2000, where he launched the BMW 6 Series global campaign and repositioned Sasol as a company of infinite possibilities.  He also worked with TBWA\Chiat Day to launch the Pedigree Worldwide “We’re for Dogs” campaign in 2004/2005. 

In 2007 he played a pivotal role in starting hotshop MetropolitanRepublic. As ECD he helped changed the global lexicon forever by leading his team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup “Ayoba” integrated campaign for telecom provider MTN.  In 2014 re rejoined TBWA\Hunt Lascaris as CCO, with the intention of taking South Africa’s most iconic agency to new heights.  He had already guided the agency to Best Individual Agency in South Africa in 2015, and Best Radio Agency in the World according to Cannes Lions 2015.  He has also dabbled in the movie business as a creative and marketing consultant to local film “Stone Cold Jane Austin” and the DSTV series “Ayeye”. 

He has accumulated well over 100 statues at local and international awards shows. His work is also featured in Cannes Lions Game Changers – The Evolution of Advertising, and multiple times in the elusive Gunn Report. In addition to Advertising, Peter has used his creative energy to formulate his own clothing/lifestyle brand, Zero One Zero.

Sithembile Ntombela
General Manager: Marketing, Brand SA

Sithembile Ntombela is the General Manager of Marketing at Brand South Africa. She has extensive classical marketing experience in FMCG, strategy development, global marketing, and destination marketing. With 19 years’ experience in Marketing, she has held senior managerial positions at Nampak Tissues, Foodcorp, Tiger Brands, Unilever and Pioneer Foods.

Her experiences include developing and implementing impactful, successful and sustainable brand strategies. Sithembile completed her Marketing undergraduate qualification in Marketing Management at University of KZN. She later pursued Strategic Brand leadership through AAA school of advertising and a Post Graduate qualification in Marketing through the Institute of Marketing Management.

She is a Chartered Marketer (CM-SA) with Marketing Association of South Africa(MASA) and a member of Black Management Forum. Sithembile’s ethos is about discovering ordinary people that have made extra ordinary impact in the society, a reason why she is a Play Your Part ambassador. She has previously judged prestigious events such as Gender Mainstreaming Awards ran by Business Engage , Get In The Ring GITR regional finals and South African Premier Business Awards.

Warwick Rautenbach
Creative Director, FCB Africa

Warwick Rautenbach has worked at several of South Africas biggest and best agencies in their hey day, including Jupiter Drawing Room, Ireland Davenport, Network BBDO, Switch Design Co (where he was ECD) and FCB 1886 where he is currently Creative Director. He has won tons of Loerie Awards and a few Cannes in his day as well as being voted 'having the best hair in advertising' by his mum, on numerous occasions.
